Being in an enviable location you shall never be stuck for ideas, with activities and attractions in every direction. Your day could consist of a short bike ride over the Pennines, climbing a mountain in the Lakes, a visit to Hadrian's Wall, a lunch or dinner in one of the numerous fantastic pubs in the area or a Ferry ride on Ullswater. If in doubt (and rain) a day by the log fire and some board games in the cottage will be just as joyous!
So if you're looking for a rural retreat with complete relaxation and comfort in mind then Midland Barn is the place for you. We hope to welcome you soon!

About Renwick & Area
Renwick is a picturesque small village situated in the Eden valley. It is a working farm community, with you often seeing the farmer herding his sheep down the road. The village is located on the west hand edge of The Pennines (AONB) and is just 30 minutes drive to Ullswater in the Lake District (Unesco World Heritage centre) making it a perfect spot to be out of the main hustle and bustle but easy driving distance away. Traffic jams around here are more likely to be sheep than cars!
Being so rural it is a haven for those looking to relax and get away from it all for a few days or more. For those bird watchers and star gazers this is a feast for the senses with wild birds aplenty in the day and true dark skies at night.
There are fantastic walks from your door step and Renwick also lies on the Cycle coast to coast route, so finding excellent and quiet country roads to ride on is no problem.
Kirkoswald, the next village along (an hours stroll through the fields) has two fantastic award winning pubs and also won an award in the 2016 Britain in Bloom competition.
Please see our 'What to do' page for more information on all the attractions in the area!
